Just because the screen displays something doesn't mean the Shelly is powered on! The way to know it has power is if it is correctly showing the current time.
This is because it uses an E-ink screen.
Part A: Connect the Shelly temperature sensor to your WiFi
Do not power on the Shelly device yet (with a USB-C cable or batteries).
Ensure you are connected to your home WiFi on your mobile, and that you are next to the Shelly temperature sensor throughout.
Sign up for a Shelly account and log in.
Power on your Shelly device. We recommend using a USB-C cable for more frequent temperature updates, however batteries work too! Ensure the Shelly remains powered on throughout.

Click “Add via Wi-Fi (AP Scan)”.
Under “New devices”, select the “Shelly H&T G3”.
Enter you WiFi credentials and click “Add device” in the bottom right to connect the Shelly to your WiFi. If this fails, ensure you’re connecting to a 2.4g WiFi connection.
Give the device a name, such as “Joe Smith’s temperature sensor” or whatever you prefer and click “next” in the bottom right.
Select the “Hidden devices” tab at the bottom and click “save” in the bottom right.
Place the Shelly temperature sensor in an appropriate location in your home. It will probably be displaying a higher temperature than usual if the device was being held. This will settle down once placed
