If it’s battery powered

1. Wake it up

  • Press the button once to wake the device (it stays awake for about 3 minutes).

  • Check if it appears in the Shelly app.

2. Power cycle

  • Remove one battery for 10 seconds.

  • Reinsert the battery and press the button once to wake it up.

3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  • Press the button briefly to toggle between Sleep and Setup modes.

  • Hold the button for 5 seconds to enable AP mode.

  • Connect your phone to the network “ShellyHTG3-XXXXXX”.

  • In your browser, go to 192.168.33.1 → Settings → Wi-Fi, then re-enter your network details.

4. Factory reset (last resort)

  • Hold the button for 10 seconds to reset the device.

  • Set it up again from scratch in the Shelly app.

If it’s USB-C powered

1. Power cycle

  • Unplug the USB-C cable for 10–15 seconds.

  • Plug it back in and wait 2–3 minutes for it to reconnect.

2. Check the network

  • When powered by USB, the device updates every 5 minutes.

  • Check your Wi-Fi router’s connected devices list for “ShellyHTG3-XXXXXX.”

3. Refresh the app

  • Pull down to refresh the Shelly app, the device should appear more frequently than when on battery.

4. Button functions

  • All button actions (wake-up, setup mode, reset) work the same as in battery mode.

  • USB power makes the device respond more quickly to commands.

💡 Tip:
USB power keeps the device more responsive, but it still uses short sleep cycles to ensure accurate temperature readings.
