Why is the Shelly showing a different temperature to my other thermostats?

It’s normal for different sensors to show slightly different temperatures, this isn’t something to worry about. If you use a Shelly thermostat, Havenwise uses it at main source of truth for your room temperature, so that’s the reading you should refer to.

There are a few reasons why readings may vary:

📊 Measurement & Reporting

  • The Shelly H&T Gen3 measures temperature every minute

  • The display updates only when the temperature changes by 0.2°C or more

  • The app updates only when the temperature changes by 0.5°C or more

  • Because of this, the display and app might show slightly different values

🌡️ Self-Heating Prevention

  • The device pauses for 5 minutes after each measurement to avoid self-heating

  • This ensures more accurate readings over time

📍 Placement & Environment

  • Location has a big impact on readings, for example, near sunlight, radiators, or poor air flow

  • Try placing your Shelly in an open area that reflects your room’s average temperature
