Yes. On the OVO Heat Pump Flex trial, Havenwise was optimising for 3 things: price signals from OVO, your comfort and the efficiency of your heat pump. There might have been times when you wondered why the heat pump was running slower or harder than expected. That was because of the price signals we received.
As the trial now ends, Havenwise will no longer consider price signals from OVO. The only factors now are your tariff, your comfort and the efficiency of your heat pump.
If you decide to stay on a flat tariff: Havenwise will optimise purely for your comfort and maximum efficiency of your heat pump. Your heat pump will run “low and slow” as people in the heat pump industry would describe it.
If you decide to switch to a “time-of-use” tariff with another energy supplier that has different prices at different times of the day, you can choose whether Havenwise optimises the operation of your heat pump in line with your tariff. This means your heat pump will work a bit harder when electricity is cheap and work less when electricity is expensive. Or you can choose for Havenwise to run “low and slow”, optimising for maximum efficiency. You are in control and can switch between modes anytime via the Havenwise app. More info here
